Learn from the Masters

These archives contain Images of actual paintings that I have taken with my Nikon camera in various galleries around the world and as such they really are the next best thing to standing in front of the actual painting.
In these images you will see the actual brush strokes and the charcoal marks on the waive of the canvas.
I find them a tremendous source of artistic instruction and I believe that if you study these images in detail you will learn more here about how these masters painted  than anywhere else on the internet!
Open the archive and click on a link to see the image. Once the image has opened ( it may take a little while....they are quite large!) you can save them to your computer and view them in all their detail.

Some images are better than others... unfortunately most galleries don't allow the use of tripods...and some don't even allow the use of cameras! In order to defeat camera shake I some times took two photos, both are included even though they look almost the same. By the way...if anyone knows where images like these can be found on the net....or if you have some yourself....please let me know.

Enjoy
